Mike Garber resides in Harrisonburg and was named a Partner with PBGH in January 2005. He serves as the Partner-in-Charge of the Harrisonburg location.

Mike has experience in planning, performing, participating, and managing audits of all forms of local governments and governmental type entities. He has served in various capacities on audit teams for more than 25 counties, cities and towns, and numerous school activity funds, as well as varying Authorities, Boards and Commissions. Mike also provides consulting services for all forms of governmental entities including operational studies to providing assistance with implementing new GASB statements.

Mike graduated from Bridgewater College in 1993 with a BS Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting. He holds a CPA certificate from Virginia issued in 1996. He received his MBA from James Madison University in 2002 and graduated with high honors/distinction.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Government Finance Officers Association and Virginia Government Finance Officers Association. He has served as Treasurer and is an active member of the Harrisonburg-Massanutten Rotary Club. Mr. Garber also served as the Vice-President of Finance for the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce.

Mike has facilitated training on various topics at conferences for the Virginia Government Finance Officers Association and the Virginia Society of Public Accountants.

He has been recognized by Virginia Business magazine and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants as a �Super CPA� in the service areas of Government and Not-for-Profit for several years. Recognition in that particular area was bestowed on only 26 individuals throughout the Commonwealth.

Mike currently serves on the Board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County and serves on the advisory committee of the Boys and Girls Club of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

Mike is a life long resident of the Valley.
